Print | Contemporary printmaking exhibition
Recently described as one of the most cutting edge galleries in Cheshire, Marburae Art Gallery is proud to present to you the best in contemporary print makers for our next exciting exhibition. Marburae Gallery will host 15 of the most innovative and established print makers as once again, our space is transformed into an artist's paradise.
Print, is an exhibition focused solely on the art of print making. It brings work from local and national artists working in both traditional and contemporary print methods, with each artist exhibiting their own unique spin on the medium. Come to see up close the intricate details, layers and decorative designs produced using the art of print.
We are excited to bring you the work of London based Chris Agnew, an artist whose work has been nominated for countless awards, including The Jerwood Drawing Prize and Saatchis New Sensations. We have special permission to exhibit Agnew's beautiful gilcee prints where the detail really is extraordinary and conveys a strong sense of surrealism.
We are also bringing you an eclectic collection of artists working with traditional lino printing, including Jill Kerrs quintessentially British farmyard scenes, rich in colour and character and Deborah Graham's quirky abstract designs.
Rebecca Lewis brings together print and collage elements in her work to create new realties, bringing to life and re-appropriating images which are at risk of being lost in our mass produced world.
Brighton based Sherrie-Leigh Webb brings bold dreamlike landscapes to the mix; whereas William Lindley explores the evolution of place and environment through subtle but beautiful drawings.
Each artist is highly acclaimed in their field exhibiting both nationally and internationally. Although all concerning print, no two artists work is similar, we really have an diverse mix of the best print makers out there at the moment.
